The Great Carterton Wheelbarrow Race is a unique community event that sees teams of mad racers dash around memorial square, competing for prizes for their sporting club or organisation.
Those prizes are generously donated by local businesses, and the day includes decorated barrow competitions, a kids race and the insane endurance event where barrowers depart from Gladstone and push their one-wheeled chariots over 15kms!
We created the website to spread the word and make it easier for people to grab entry forms. It provides another way to thank the sponsors, and a central point for creating a photographic history of the race.
I’m looking forward to updating it each year, and I’m planning to do better than this year’s 3rd place effort!
