We're thrilled to live in the Wairarapa, surrounded by gorgeous landscapes and people by wonderful, creative personalities! So we're also excited about supporting our local community, and this time it's the under 15 Wairarapa Girls Hockey reps, who are off to regional and national tournaments in Tauranga. The pics below show the delightful and lovely Rosalie modeling her training top. Best of luck to the team as they head away to face the best from around the country!
To tell the truth, an alpaca farm isn't the first place that comes to mind for a getaway retreat, but when Gallin Farm owner Sue McAuley showed us the stunning views, the mouth-watering menu drawn from locally-produced ingredients, and the facilities, it all started to look very inviting! And so off we raced: a new logo, a business card, and a fancy, responsive website. Once again, Bek's ability to take a brief, engage her design magic and produce something gorgeous and unique came to the [...]
Cameron & Co are a Christchurch-based law firm with a long and storied tradition, who were looking for a design makeover that would reflect the many changes that had happened in their business since the earthquakes. They wanted a fresh new look; something clean but also friendly, representing their focus on people and services, and the fact rather than one monolithic head office, they have four suburban offices located right within the communities they serve. Bek designed a new logo and letterhead, and then we [...]
Following the successful design of the FDH logo a few years back, Farah asked Nectarine to do a make-over on her website. After talking to her marketing specialist who thought that her video-based homepage wasn't working very well for new visitors to her site, Farah decided to revamp. Nectarine helped Farah with a solution to the problem and designed and created two home pages. One for non-members and one for members. The default non-members page has access to information including the FDH Blog, about Farah [...]
Nectarine designed five large scale panels for an installation for the Bowen Hospital in 2011-12. Recently the Bowen Hospital decided to add a sixth panel to the installation depicting the new Bowen Centre which includes a theatre suite completed in 2012. We worked with specialist architectural photographer Jason Mann who took some fabulous up-to-date photographs of the hospital including the new Centre. The panels feature a collage of photographs sourced from libraries around the country and a timeline along the bottom. The sixth panel created [...]
The Shelter launched the release of their international brand MM6 - Maison Martin Margiela. They needed window signage, interior wall mural of mesh 6 metres high, placards and footprints for the floor.
Dierdre Ryan already had a simple logo for her company Salta Limited: For her Salta Horses venture, she wanted something that retained the feel of her original logo, but captured the essence of the caring and therapeutic benefits she creates when working with people and horses. Bek waved her magic design wand and produced the new look! Dierdre's response? "I just love our new logo.. it makes my heart sing!" That kind of feedback is like an early Christmas present!
The Maths Truck is a mobile maths tuition program established by businessman and tutor Andrew Baker, who aims to make maths engaging, fun and easily accessible to young children and families. Andrew was inspired by celebrity chef Michael Van de Elzen's Food Truck, as a way of making maths easily accessible and convenient for families because tuition can be delivered during school time or at a location close to school or home. Andrew's using a lovely retro caravan as his flagship, and Bek was called [...]
In a bit of a change of scale from our usual design work, this project required creating five panels for the Bowen Hospital, each 1.2 metres high. The panels feature a timeline and key images celebrating the hospital's history and 100th anniversary. The project included sourcing specific images from libraries, doing layout and design, working with a framer to install the panels behind museum-quality glass, and preparing the area with curtains for the launch ceremony. The installation was opened by the Govenor General, Sir Anand [...]
Sometimes, in amongst the websites and boardgames, it’s easy to forget to mention the smaller jobs! And yet the results from a couple of hours of Bek’s time, with her lovely eye for beauty and clarity, can produce a design that has superb ongoing results. Case in point, her creation of a logo for Montessori at South End: There’s a suggestion of a sunrise and a real sense of Aotearoa in the logo, and as a whole it’s strong and clear. […]
