A recent addition to Carterton's shops is Red Moa Gallery. A great way to fill in half an hour is to have a look around the interesting and varied works in this well-thought-out space (as well as a coffee or lunch at next door Bambino). Owner Andrea needed an online presence where she could show the work to a wider audience.

We went for a dark background for the website so the artwork would jump off the page.  The interface is simple so as to keep out of the way when viewing the art. The Flash slideshow in the gallery section allows viewers to click through each artwork or sit back and let the images change automatically.

Janet Green is a Masterton based ceramic artist. She creates exotic objects with beautiful curves and textures.

Janet needed a website to showcase the work she has carefully archived from 1979 until now. We kept the interface simple so it wouldn't fight with Janet's fine, light work.

The site is also a place for Janet to post her news and show what she is currently working on. It made sense to use a blog page that she can update herself. No pressure Janet! Watch this space : )

Have a look at Janet's incredible work at www.janetgreen.co.nz.

Balloons over Wairarapa is fantastic this year, the weather has been perfect. We were woken this morning by the sound of the gas burners as the balloons flew over Carterton. Last night we went to the amazing 'Night Burn'. Loads of bands and people eating, drinking, playing on bouncy castles and watching the beautiful balloons fire up in unison with the music.

Went to the Masterton Aerodrome this morning to see the balloons take off for the start of Balloons over Wairarapa.

It was a gorgeous morning, still and sunny. We picnicked on bacon and egg sandwiches and hot chocolate while balloons all around us were firing up and lifting off. Worth getting up early for!

Last night's burner parade up the main street was great too.

Ramari textiles is a craft studio and shop in Carterton. Owner Leanne needed a way of showcasing her gorgeous wares to a wider audience.

Nectarine created a website that was simple in  design and structure while still having enough functionality to see individual items, cost and dimensions. It is important is that Leanne will be able to add new items to her collection as well as update her blog. Making the site in WordPress allowed us to import her blog from Blogger and keep everything together in the one place. It seems that a blog is a blog, and Leanne has had no problems with the transition!

You can explore the Leanne's wonderous works at www.ramaritextiles.co.nz .
