About Nectarine

We do websites, design, boardgames, photography, print work, code and animation.

Minty and Bek have been in the whole multimedia caper since 1993, founding Nectarine in Melbourne with a focus on educational and artistic projects for clients like the Department of Education, Adobe, Microsoft, Encyclopaedia Britannica, Curriculum Corporation and the Australian National Gallery. Working out of Melbourne, Nectarine Oz was our baby for 13 years. With a staff of five employees, we won a swag of awards for creative work underpinned by our unique sense of design, innovation and humour.

Eighteen years ago we moved our young family to Aotearoa New Zealand to enjoy a change of pace. We focused local businesses, artists, organisations and councils (as you can see in the Website Portfolio).

We also became involved in boardgames when a friend brought us a pencil-sketched game asking for help to polish it to attract a publisher. That game became “The Amazing Moa Hunt”, a New Zealand bestseller: you can find it in Whitcoulls and Paper Plus and many other stores. Since then we’ve worked on over 14 games in various capacities, covered in our Boardgame Portfolio.

Recently we were delighted to be joined by the fabulous Lydia Menard, who was with us for a year and further boosted our design capabilities, which you can see in our Design Portfolio

We’re handy with print design, video editing, animation, and can write real purdy. Heck, we’ve done webcomics, fashion design, art direction, Actionscript, Javascript, Lingo, HTML, CSS and php coding, painting, singing and dancing- although we stay away from mime.

Suffice it to say, if you’ve got an intriguing project that needs our combination of code, design and wit, get in touch!
